ABOUT ALETHEA ROCKS

ALETHEA ROCKS — because great work should.

I’m a creative technologist and digital archivist with over 20 years of experience connecting art, music, and technology through digital preservation, storytelling, and design.

By day, I manage the Recorded Sound Archives at FAU Libraries, where I specialize in digitizing and preserving historical audio collections, curating metadata, and building public-facing digital projects that bring forgotten recordings back to life. Working with century-old music means I spend a lot of time time-traveling through music. Some days it genuinely feels like living inside a Doctor Who episode, just with more jazz and shellac records.

My background spans web development, project management, digital preservation, video editing, and content strategy. I enjoy building systems and digital experiences that make complex collections accessible, searchable, and meaningful to modern audiences.

Outside the archive, I create under the name Inkeater, where I run my shop Inkeater Originals, designing quirky illustrations, animation, and products. Inspired by nostalgia, monsters, music, and oddball humor. I’m also an independent animator with the Channel Frederator Network, where my work has appeared in collaborative projects alongside creators connected with networks like Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Pokemón and more.

My creative work has included collaborations with brands like Mountain Dew, Chegg, and Frederator. My artwork has appeared in DK’s Supernatural Creatures. And most recently, my poetry has been featured in The Spell Jar: Hauntings of the Heart by Indie Earth Publishing.

Whether I’m archiving rare 78rpm recordings, designing weird greeting cards, animating strange little worlds, or crocheting spooky desk companions. I’m driven by the same idea: creativity should be preserved, shared, and a little bit unexpected.

If you’re into creative tech, digital preservation, music history, or weird art with heart — we’ll probably get along.
