Gaelynn Lea & Ella Herrara Concert Sign Painter

In helping out with Jaffe Center for Book Arts, I helped by creating signage for the Gaelynn & Ella Herrera Concert this included a welcome sign featuring the opening and main act with hand-drawn lettering on a chalkboard along with a sign for selling coffees and teas.

In helping out with Jaffe Center for Book Arts, I helped by creating signage for the event this included an 8 ft x 4 ft banner consisting of hand-painted lettering and design elements from the event flyer along with tiny imagery added to pricing/cost of items for the event.

Helped with the promotion and creation of Mountain Dew Distortion, a contending flavor in Mountain Dew’s Dewmocracy 2010 campaign. During this time, I was a part of a team that helped with the tasting, naming, color schemes, design, and promotion of said flavor.

Celebrating Black Blues Artists Exhibition
February 2019 – February 2020
Curated, Researched and Installed an Interactive exhibit celebrating Black Blues artists for Black History Month highlighting 14 African-American Blues musicians and their contributions to American music. This exhibit highlights how these artists paved the way for the world of Hip Hop, Pop music and beyond. It allows users to listen to old recordings through a listening station along with a created Spotify playlist that gives users a sampling of the direct impact these blue artists had on the musicians we know and love today.

Helped curate a group effort between Special Collections, Jaffe Center for Books Arts, Recorded Sound Archives and Government Information and Maps Department using items(vintage books, recordings, guides, postcards, and magazines) from Special Collections, Jaffe Center for Book Arts, Recorded Sound Archives and Government Information and Maps Department this exhibit highlights travel destinations within Florida (Key West, Miami, Everglades, Trails and Camping, St. Augustine) and the idea you don’t have to go far to have an adventure along with other tourist destinations beyond. 


Women Musicians Through Time Exhibition

Curated, Researched, and Installed an Interactive exhibit featuring famous and not so famous women musicians. Using Recordings and objects from the FAU Libraries Recorded Sound Archives, along with advertisements and articles from the Library of Congresses’ “Chronicling America” database, the Women Musicians Through Time exhibition highlights key points in these artists’ careers and the influence some had on musicians of today.

Presented a poster session on the Recorded Sound Archives revamped website and media manager. Highlighting the Sound ‘n Scores project that had just recently been completed.

Gave a presentation in conjunction with the Director who spoke of the Recorded Sound Archives as a whole while I focused on showcasing the Sound ‘n Scores project we had recently completed which allows cantorial students to listen to old recordings while simultaneously viewing the sheet music.

FAU Library Website Redesign and Overhaul
2015 – Aug 2018
Working on a team of three to redesign, restructure, and reorganize the libraries websites and content.

Revamping Library Website
Working on both the Implementation and Development team for overhauling of FAU Libraries website this includes migration of content to new CMS, testing out new features, helping create a style guide, workflow going forward, and tutorials for the new CMS.

Recorded Sound Archives Website Overhaul Jan 2013 – Present (ON HOLD)
Worked on a team of 3 to create the RSA Website, Working on a team of two to revamp and overhaul the RSA website with a new theme. This is currently a WIP.

Sound ‘n Scores Sheet Music Project, Recorded Sound Archives
Grant Funded Project Jun 2013 – Mar 2015
Sound ‘n Scores was a grant-funded project to create a unique online approach to music studies that combines the experience of hearing recorded sound while viewing corresponding sheet music. During this time, I was part of a team of 3 people and participated in design decisions, helped in the creation of the data entry forms, identifying which fields were important, the metadata along with the testing and implementation of audio and sheet music in this project.

Recorded Sound Archives Media Manager, FAU Libraries
Jan 2012 – Aug 2014
Worked on a team of two to revamp the way collections are handled and processed within the Recorded Sound Archives. This project took five access databases that did not correspond with one another and consolidated everything into one central location. Along with this, we created an easy way to upload, generate snippets, create new collections, edit and add new recordings to the website and database without the need of FTPing or syncing MYSQL databases.
