Reflections of Valor Exhibit(2024)
We created an exhibit Reflections of Valor - V-discs-Vmail and Our Heroes to honor those on veterans day and showcase the life that was led back in the day through different items from Special Collections. At the heart of the exhibit are the V-discs and V-mail, poignant artifacts that offer a unique glimpse into the lives of soldiers during wartime. These audio recordings and letters served as lifelines, connecting troops with loved ones back home and providing solace and support during challenging times. Through a curated collection of V-discs and V-mail, we invite you to step back in time and experience the profound impact of these historical artifacts on the lives of our heroes.
But the Reflections of Valor exhibit goes beyond mere nostalgia; it's a celebration of resilience, camaraderie, and the enduring spirit of patriotism. From stirring musical performances captured on V-discs to heartfelt messages exchanged through V-mail, each item featured in the exhibit embodies the courage and fortitude of our servicemen and women, reminding us of their selflessness and sacrifice.
ABOUT REFLECTIONS OF VALOR EXHIBIT
In commemoration of Veterans Day, we proudly presented the “Reflections of Valor – V-discs-Vmail and Our Heroes” exhibit. Curated from our Special Collections main and Recorded Sound Archives, this exhibit offered a poignant glimpse into the lives of soldiers through the artifacts they cherished.
